Our Chorus

Sheffield Harmony was founded in 1978 in the dining room of our then-treasurer, Joan. Since then, the chorus has gone from strength to strength and now we have more than 40 members, aged from the 20s to the 80s.
The chorus has taken part in competitions in both the UK and in Spain to help us to continue to develop our musical skills.
There have been many highlights away from the competition stage. We have featured on film, television and radio including Radio Sheffield’s ‘Good News Friday’ and appearing in 2014’s Pulp: A Film about Life, Death and Supermarkets. The chorus recorded a barbershop version of ‘Common People’ that features on the film’s soundtrack, and performed at the premiere at Sheffield City Hall! Watch here.
We are a friendly, welcoming chorus and are always open to new singers who identify as women, with or without singing experience.

Sunny
Whilst we couldn’t sing together in person during the coronavirus pandemic we could still sing together virtually and learn new songs too! We had great fun putting together our first virtual chorus production of a song that made us feel good, Sunny.
